Definition - The deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group .
A term coined by Raphael Lemkin in his 1994 book Axis Rule in Occupied Europe, hybrid word geno-cide is a combination of Greek word genos (“race , people”) and the Latin suffix - Caedo (“act of killing”)
