Diagonal and curved lines are used to create movement, if you think about it, falling is movement so in a way it could be A but we want the most correct so not A. And Vertical straight lines create a sense of height so not B and D is rest, which would mean the artist is trying to imply no movement but curved lines and diagonal lines are more fun and funky feeling and I don't see how you could use crazy lines and make the art feel peaceful and a sense of rest. Think about Starry Night by Van Gough, lots of curved lines to create the idea the stars are moving. Anyway I got this correct on my test so I thought I'd share my thought process. Hope I helped!
