I need someone to explain this step by step. I have a test very soon.

Answer:
Yes
Step-by-step explanation:
solutions to a system is an answer that makes both equations true at the same time. this is graphically represented by where the lines cross. X marks the spot :DD. so b/c this is an inequality, it's the whole area from the line over. but the line is still the important part. just find the lines, and then decide if it's greater than or less than the line :)
y = 4x-1
y = -x+5
since we've set both equations to y , that is they both equal y here. we could also set them equal to each other and then just solve for x
4x -1 = -x+5
5x = 6
x = 6/5
so when x = 6/5 , then the lines cross. as in the graph attached.
to check if (-1,4) is a solution plug in the x part of the point ( the -1) and see if the two equations give you the same y answer, if not, then that point is NOT a solution for the line, but it could also be a point in the area that is also included. so check to see if the point is in the area that is outlined by the two lines.
y > 4x-1 means everything to the left of the blue line the the graph below,
y<-x+5 means everything to the left and below the green line, so yes, (-1,4) is in the solution area to these two inequalities. :)
