a real dog would make the movie look better but a down side to having a real dog is theyd poop everywere but you can train a real dog using an alternative would probably just be some guy in a green suit walking around on all fours only to be edited into a real dog if they were gonna use a real dog id say use a dog they already have like one from home but it might be cheaper to use some guy in a green suit
