The Pearson correlation of r can be regarded as significant or not depending on the value of alpha or the significance threshold and the number of participants. For alpha of 0.05 and the 20 samples, the significant value of r is 0.38. For alpha of 0.01, significant value of r is 0.52. From this, we can say that only at alpha of 0.05 is the correlation significant.
