The ideas brought about in the Enlightenment such as those of natural rights encouraged the American and French Revolution by disagreeing with their governments current political side. For example the king of British did not support individual rights however John lockes ideas supported individual rights. Many enlightenment ideas also were used as the foundation for both the revolutions and treaties (bill of rights)
