With plenty of crops to feed the population, everyone needed a job.
With coal to burn for the energy of factories, a healthy population as a workforce, and transportation networks, the stage was set.
No other country had a healthy workforce at this time.
Other countries were in civil wars at this time.

They  had access to a number of natural resources, such as iron and coal. This allowed the economy to steadily grow. Hope this answer helps.
