The best-suited lifecycle on a high-quality construction project is DMAIC Model which stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control in comparison to the other two which are Project Lifecycle Model and Research and Development project lifecycle.
The reason for DMAIC Model to be best suited for high-quality construction is that it is a disciplined and structured approach that helps teams from missing out on crucial steps in the project. Which in return increases the chances of success for a project.
The project life cycle model focuses on five stages of a project which are initiation, planning, implementation, performance, and monitoring. While the model is good, however, in this model it would be difficult to measure the final cost because of the dynamics of the work. Any new change would disrupt the success of the project. This is why it is not suited for high-quality construction projects.
The Research and Development project lifecycle model focuses on either developing a new project or improving an existing one. This model requires constant surveillance. The main issue is that it is more expensive than the traditional model as it requires more resources. Moreover, issues might occur during the initial stage as most aspects are not written on paper after the planning stage. Therefore, it is also not suited for high-quality construction projects.
In conclusion, the DMAIC Model is much better suited than both the Project lifecycle mode and Research and Development Lifecycle model when selecting lifecycle for high-quality construction projects.
