Urban sprawl, also called sprawl or suburban sprawl, the rapid expansion of the geographic extent of cities and towns, often characterized by low-density residential housing, single-use zoning, and increased reliance on the private automobile for transportation.
If you were a Native American, you would rather have the French colonize your lands since the French didn’t settle permanently or integrate people to colonial society. The French only used American lands to trade fur with the natives and mostly stayed off the Native’s way, in contrast, the Spanish settled big cities and enslaved the Natives. The Spanish developed the land and treated the natives harshly.
