The six main categories of conflict are already pretty well established in writerly circles:
Character vs Character:
It's when two or more characters face off against each other, either literally or metaphorically.
Character vs. Self:
The core issue is often portrayed as a character conflict. It's also a character's internal struggle. A desire or a moral dilemma are suitable instances.
Character vs. Nature:
Is a literary theme that challenges a character against nature's forces. This theme is prevalent in many survival stories and many disaster films. It also shines in stories about survival in remote locations.
Character vs. Society:
Is a literary theme in which social traditions or concepts serve as the primary source of conflict for a main character or group of main characters.
Character vs. Supernatural:
This could include ghosts, monsters, demons, and so on. The film Ghostbusters is a good example.
Character vs. Technology:
Places a character against "artificial intelligence" robot forces.
