what is the body’s requirement to maintain a constant internal environment (homeostasis) by both internal and external factors.

Respuesta :

The body's requirement to maintain homeostasis is the constant monitoring of internal factors and their changes in response to external factors.

Homeostasis is a series of mechanisms by which the body maintains its internal balance in response to changes in the environment. In order to do this, the body must be aware of internal conditions at all times. This constant monitoring is done through two processes:

  1. Positive feedback loop
  2. Negative feedback loop

A positive feedback loop allows the body to register when there is a stimulus that causes more of something to be secreted. One example is the body's ability to regulate blood sugar levels. This is done through the hormone known as insulin. This hormone is always present in the body, however, in the presence of high blood sugar levels, positive feedback causes more insulin to be secreted.

On the other hand, a negative feedback loop is just the opposite. To use the same example, once the blood sugar levels are normalized, the body now needs to reduce the secretion of insulin. This is done through negative feedback, in which the body detects that there is too much insulin in circulation and reduces the rate at which it is secreted.
