Hernando De Soto’s expedition failed because he failed to find an gold or riches and he also had a very negative impact on the Native Americans. He killed the Native Americans through disease and killed them if they got in his way during his expedition. He looked for gold on his expedition but failed to find any at all. His expedition also failed because he died before making it back to Spain.
