In the Christmas carol Scrooge is a really great character he wouldn't give any off days for his workers, and of course when it comes to Christmas there is no exceptions. Scrooge doesn't even care for himself perhaps not even his nephew.
Dickens presents selfishness through Scrooge. In the Christmas Carol, we see Scrooge forbidding his workers extra time off for Christmas, as he is selfish and would much rather they continue their works. He completely dismisses them having their own personal time off and that they have their own families to tend to, further adhering to Scrooge’s arrogance and self-absorbedness. This links back to selfishness being presented in the Christmas Carol.
