It takes Carol 3 hours to drive from Ashdown to Bridgeton at an average speed of 50 mph.
She then drives 60 miles from Bridgeton to Carton at an average speed of 70 mph.
Assuming Carol doesn't stop, what is her average speed from Ashdown to Carton to 1 dp?

Answer= 59.8mph

So since it takes 3h of 50mph to get from Ashdown to Bridgetown Carol drives for 150miles. Because 3*50 is 150.
Then divide 60 by 70 which is 0.857. Then times 0.857 by 60 to see how long it took her , which is 51 mins. Add 3h and 51mins which gets you 3.51h.

Then add 150 and 60 to get 210. Divide 210 by 3.51 then you get 59.8 mph
