Explanation:

Asexual Production:

  • Asexual reproduction does not involve sex cells or fertilisation. Only one parent is required, unlike sexual reproduction which needs two parents.
  • Asexual reproduction in plants can take a number of forms. Many plants develop underground food storage organs that later develop into the following year's plants. Potatos and daffodils are both examples of plants which do this.
  • Asexual reproduction in animals does occur in sea anemones and starfish, but it is much less common than sexual reproduction.

Sexual Production:

  • Sexual reproduction allows some of the genetic information from each parent to mix, producing offspring that resemble their parents, but are not identical to them. In this way, sexual reproduction leads to variety in the offspring. Animals and plants can reproduce using sexual reproduction.
  • Due to which the offspring will acquire the gene from both parents but in the recombinant form due to the formation of chiasmata in the meiotic stages. In this type of reproduction, the offspring will the combination of both the two parents rather than one.
  • Organisms are genetically diverse because of sexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction begins with sperm and egg cells, which are produced through a process called meiosis.
