A hero, in my opinion, is someone you can look up to and appreciate for their talents and the challenges they have conquered. Jackie Robinson, a baseball legend and civil rights activist, is my hero.
Jackie Roosevelt Robinson is my idol because he is a fantastic man who is ambitious, determined, and daring. I appreciate him for his tenacity and effect on America despite the difficulties he endured.
He was adamant about becoming the first black baseball player in the modern era, and he did so with bravery and patience. Jackie Robinson never gave up despite the taunts and threats he faced. He was an admirable figure because he was brave, fearless, and nice. Jackie Robinson, in my opinion, is one of baseball's most influential and amazing figures.

What is a hero? A hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. A true hero is someone who is dedicated to helping others in need no matter the circumstances or struggles they are facing. Helen Keller is a hero because she overcame the struggles of being deaf and blind and never gave up. She dedicated her life to helping others and made changes in the world despite her disabilities. Helen Keller was born in the nineteenth century, a time where there were limited advantages to those with disabilities. Helen Keller utilized her struggle to inspire others and empower those with similar disadvantages. With perseverance and the help of her teacher dispatched from the Perkins Institute for the Blind named Miss Sullivan, Keller quickly learned techniques such as writing by hand, typing, and braille. She even went beyond to become fluent in French and German.
Fresh out of college, she wrote her first book, The Story of My Life, chronicling the struggles she had to overcome with communication and finding her own unique voice. Hellen Keller continued to reach farther by educating the public about blindness and disabilities. During WWII, Keller even advocated for soldiers who had been blinded during battle. She was a force to be reckoned with. Not letting her new found voice being silenced. Helen Keller teaches us not to let anything or anyone stand in the way of our goals or our education. That anything we set our mind to is achievable with perseverance and persistence. This is why she remains one of America’s greatest Heroes.
