The lengths of the sides of a triangle are 17, 8, and n. Which of the following must be true?
A. 9 < n < 25 B. n > or equal to 25 C. n < 9 D. 9 < or equal to n < or equal to 25 At first I thought it was B, then I thought it was A or D... is it A? Please help? Thanks

Assuming that n is the longest side of the triangle

So n < 17 + 8

n < 25, the one possible length of n = 24 which is less than 25. So among the choices the correct answer is A.  9 < n < 25
