The posterior white matter of your spinal cord is made of axons inthe poster column pathway. This pathway carries fine touch, consciousproprioception (muscle, joint position), vibration and pressure informationfrom the same side of the body. The first order neuron axons make up theposterior column. Because the posterior column is made of first orderneurons, they have not yet crossed the body. Therefore, damage to the leftposterior white matter in the spinal cord interrupts signal transmission (ofspecific information) from the left side of the body.
