Marvin Harris in his 1968 book The Rise of Anthropological Theory, introduced cultural materialism as an anthropological research orientation and as a theoretical paradigm and research strategy. It was said in his book that the Aztecs would have had domesticated animals they probably would have not have had what religious practice.
