Dr Martin Luther king was an activist who was a big leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He is known best for using nonviolent and civil means (based on his christian beliefs) during the civil rights movement in the 1950s. Basically he was a protester for african americans during the 1950s back when people were segregated.
