With this in mind. we can see that the way the spirit of Christmas has changed from Dickens time in A Christmas Carol was that Dickens believed that Christmas time was a period of giving, loving, forgiving and being more open with each other, there is a slight difference today as people seem to be in competition with each other and are more envious.
