The type of journey which is explored through the speaker’s descriptions of events in this poem is:

  • An internal growth and a change from the old ways to the new.

Theme of the text

What the theme suggests is:

  • It shows that he is on a new journey of life

Based on the complete text, we can see that there is the narration by the speaker about the journey which he had undertaken and tries to "clear the air" on the type of journey which he had undertaken.

With this, he talks about going on an abstract journey which took place in his mind and imagination and he is referring to the new found path which he has chosen to follow.
