There are 16 sixth graders and 24 seventh graders attending a play. The teachers want to have the same number of students in each row.
If a row can contain only sixth grader or only seventh graders, what is the greatest number of student that can be in a row?

8 students can be in a row.

If the same amount of students must be in each row across the grades, determine their greatest common factor. That would be 8 (8*2=16, 8*3=24). Any more than that, and the rows are uneven. There can be a max of 8 people in a row (2 rows for 6th grade, and 3 rows for 7th)
