Answer:
[tex]f(x)= (x-1)(3+\sqrt{5})(3-\sqrt{5})[/tex]
Step-by-step explanation:
factor further
[tex]f(x)= x^3 -7x^2 +10x -4[/tex]
and as you put it:
[tex]f(x)= (x-1)(x^2 -6x +4)[/tex]
in the instructions, it says that 1 is a zero.
this is because when x=1
you will see that the first section (x-1) will be (1-1) which is 0
when you multiply 0 by anything, it is 0
so the entire thing would then be zero
(x-1) can not be factored further
but [tex]x^2 -6x +4[/tex] can
factor into [tex](3+\sqrt{5})(3-\sqrt{5})[/tex]
use quadratic formula
then put it back into equation
[tex]f(x)= (x-1)(3+\sqrt{5})(3-\sqrt{5})[/tex]
