- Increasing amounts of oestradiol and inhibin are produced.

When the brain notices that the ovary is struggling to make eggs, it enhances the ovary harder and raises its FSH production.
Hence, a healthy ovary is responsive to an elevated level of FSH by producing several mature eggs.
- Although, when the ovary's egg production is compromised it will only produce one egg, regardless of the level of FSH.
