As an only child myself, some of the advantages are being spoiled, having my own things and not needing to share with siblings (no hand-me-downs, having my own room, etc). i’m also very independent, and it’s cheaper for my parents to only have to take care of one child. some disadvantages are that it can be lonely, parents can be overprotective, more pressure to do well in school, and a lot of only childs grow up introverts because most of the time they spend time alone, and this is definitely true for me.
