Hardly anyone had spoken to her, and when she had walked past the huddled groups of students, she could hear their muffled comments. But yesterday at lunch a girl named Betsy had sat down with her and started a conversation. As it turned out, Betsy was really nice and shared a lot of interests with Vivian. It felt good to finally have a friend. Vivian was looking forward to spending more time with her today, so she was excited when she saw Betsy farther down the hallway.
