You could find the volume of a figure using unit cubes by placing cubes inside the figure until it is full and counting while you are placing them inside. If that is not an option you can find the measure of the figure by using the cubes to count them. Ex. With a wooden letter block you can black the unit cubes on the bottom to find out the length, place the cubes on the side in 1 layer at the bottom to find the width, then stack them up at the edge of a side to find the height. Once you have found these three numbers you can multiply them to find the volume.
