I was reading a book and I came across some words that I didn't know. I looked them up and now I know what they mean. Here are some of the words I learned:
Serendipity: the luck that happens when you are looking for something and you find something else that you weren't looking for
Bildungsroman: a novel about a young person's education and development
Nostalgia: a sentimental longing for the past
I was feeling really down on my luck. I had lost my job, my relationship had just ended, and I was struggling to make ends meet. I was feeling really nostalgic for the good old days. I was walking around town, looking for a new job, when I came across a flyer for a job fair. I decided to go, even though I didn't think I would find anything. It was there that I met the love of my life. We hit it off immediately and we've been together ever since. It was serendipity that brought us together and I'm grateful for that.
