Dr. Duncan MacDougall performed a series of experiments in which he attempted to measure the weight of the soul as it left a dying person. In his experiments, MacDougall placed a dying person on a scale and measured their weight immediately prior to and following death. MacDougall determined the change in weight to be approximately 21 grams. From these experiments, he concluded that the soul exists and has mass. That is not true. There is no proof of that, its basically a theory, or a belief.

Dr. MacDougall tested six dying patients in order to find that souls exhibit physical weight. In his test, only one of the patient out of the six lost approximately 21 grams of weight. This experiment is widely considered as blemished and irrational, due to the small size of the testing samples, the procedures utilized to prove the hypothesis, and the fact that one of the six patients proved the hypothesis.
