The analysis of the quote is, the long and short term of the terrible dilemma Mary has go through.

Because this the line taken from the Act 2 scene 2 of the Mary Wives of Windsor, where Mary is told by mistress about the long and short reasons of being a women and brings a child in this world. She is in such a terrible dilemma as a result of you. When the court was at Windsor, the finest courtier in history could not have placed Elizabeth in such a predicament.

But back then, I'm telling you, there were knights, lords, and gentlemen with their coaches—coach after coach, letter after letter, gift after gift. Any women would have been won over by letters like that since they were all written so neatly and were so complimentary, proclaiming she was the greatest and prettiest woman. They all smelt so good, full of perfume, and were wrapped, I guarantee you, in silk and gold.

They could never even get her to look at them, I can assure you of that: this morning, someone gave me twenty gold coins. They couldn't even persuade her to take a drink with the most attractive man in the group, and some of them were earls and, even better, gentleman in the royal guards. However, I'm not interested in any gold coins at all, except when I can obtain them honestly. But I can assure you that she doesn't care about any of it.
