Respuesta :

The f-number of a camera lens is doubled, say from f4. 0 to f8. 0, that means the diameter of the lens aperture is halved .

The ratio of the focal length to the aperture in an optical system .Also the effectiveness of the aperture of a camera lens in relation to brightness of image so that the smaller the number the brighter the image and therefore the shorter the exposure required.

F number = focal length / aperture diameter

if  f-number of a camera lens is doubled

let, initial f - number : f1 = f-n

final f - number :f2 = 2 f-n

f1 = f-n = focal length / D1

D1 - focal length / f-n

f2 = 2 f-n = focal length / D2

D2 = focal length / 2 f-n

D2 =  [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex]( D1  )

hence , diameter of the lens aperture will get halved .
