Medical Administrative Assistants may play many different administrative roles in a health care setting. Their duties can range from managing a single office to overseeing an entire facility or system, or administrating a specific clinical department or health care service. Most health care or medical office assistants are employed by hospitals, but the fastest employment growth is with in-home health care agencies, long-term care facilities, managed care, practitioner offices, and clinics.
