The importance of mitosis to living organisms living organisms is that it allows organisms to grow in size and repair themselves. When an organism grows, its cells do not grow larger; they divide to make more of themselves through the process of mitosis, or cell division.

One example of why cells reproduce in living organisms is like if you cut your self on something your skin cells reproduce to protect that area. Also when you need blood to live shop that blood you list from that cut needs to be replaced do your blood cells will reproduce to make mite blood.
