It must be noted that if we speak of polygons being similar, it means that the ratio of the corresponding sides are proportional. Also, all the interior angles are congruent. Examples of proportion that would contain BC and KL are:
                                  BC / NK = CD / KL
or;
                                   AB / CD = MN / KL
There are still other proportions apart from what I presented above, would really appreciate if you establish them yourself. 

The proportion that contains BC and KL is BC / CD = NK / KL

Similar figures

Two figures are said to be similar if they have the same shape and the ratio of their corresponding sides are in the same proportion. For similar figures, the corresponding angles of similar figures are congruent to each other.

Figure ABCD is similar to figure MNKL. Hence:

BC / CD = NK / KL
