Answer:
The Forbidden City
Explanation:
The Forbidden City is a palatial complex located in Beijing, capital of China. For almost five hundred years, from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was the official residence of the Chinese emperors and their court, as well as the ceremonial and political center of the Chinese Government. At present it is a tourist attraction that houses the Palace Museum.
Built between 1406 and 1420 by order of Emperor Yongle, the current complex consists of 980 buildings and covers an area of 72 hectares. The set exemplifies the traditional palatial architecture of China and has influenced the cultural and architectural development of East Asia and other parts of the world, so the Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987. In addition, it is considered by Unesco as the largest set of old wooden structures in the world.
Since 1925 the Forbidden City is managed by the Palace Museum, which has an extensive collection of works of art and objects that belonged to the imperial collections of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Part of the museum's old collection is now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei, as both museums belonged to the same institution and were divided after the Chinese Civil War.
