According to the Bible, God's intentions for creation were not only to reveal God's character but also to: • provide for all that God has made, including natural systems and non-human life needs • provide for human physical needs, including food, water, shelter, clothing and energy • provide for human and non-human

In Genesis 1, God instructed humans to 'rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground', and to 'fill the earth and subdue it' (Genesis 1:26, 28).

God did not just create heaven and earth, but he created them for us. This is the most important point to teach our children. We are placed inside creation in order to sense it and to receive it as a gift from our almighty father's hand. Our role in all of this is to thank, praise, serve and obey him.
