Nature is synonymous with the natural world, physical world, or material world in the broadest sense. The term "nature" can be used to describe both universal life and the phenomena of the physical world. From the subatomic to the cosmic, it spans a wide scale. The word "nature" can apply to things like weather, geological processes, living things like plants and animals, and things like matter and energy in physics. The phrase is frequently used to describe the "natural environment" or wilderness, including wild animals, rocks, forests, beaches, and other landscape features that have not been significantly altered by humans or have survived in spite of human activity. For instance, unless specifically referred to as "human nature" or "the entirety of nature," manufactured items and human interaction are typically not considered to be a part of nature.
