The English colonies came into existence along the eastern seaboard due to various reasons.
The New England colonies were founded to abolish religious persecution in England. These middle colonies, due to there fertile soil, were called breadbasket colonies.
The middle colonial economies developed on the basis of their respective environment. The New England colonies had rocky soil which was not suitable for plantation farming so these colonies were dependent on fishing and subsistence farming.
The people of these English colonies rarely married to Native Americans unlike the people of Spanish, Dutch, and French colonies. The English colonizers have numerous armed conflicts with Native Americans because English colonizers were unwilling to integrate with Native Americans. Whereas, Native Americans were angry about English encroachment on native land.
