A new idea that Cervantes celebrates in don Quixote is a group of individuality.

Individuality is defined as the unique characteristics and traits that make someone or something one of a kind. The things that make you distinctively and distinguish you from others are an example of your individuality. noun.  Miguel de Cervantes is the most important and celebrated figure in Spanish literature. He is best known for being the author of Don Quixote (1605, 1615), a widely read literary classic. He also was noted for his short story collection novels and several plays and poems.

Cervantes himself states that he wrote Don Quixote in order to undermine the influence of those vain and empty books of chivalry as well as to provide some merry, original, and sometimes prudent material for his readers' entertainment.
