According to the Rutherford's model of the atom, the electron moves round in orbits as the planets moves round the sun. The nucleus is at the focus of concentric ellipses.

This model solved the riddle of the experiment of Rutherford which suggested  large positively charged core at the center of the atom and not the large sphere of positive and negative charges as previously opined by Thompson.
