Under Huayna Capac, the part of modern-day Ecuador became part of Incan Empire.
He was a leader that undertook a tour of Ecuador which was a newly conquered area of the empire. In this city of Quito, Huayna Capac received a gift box and when he opened it, it contained of butterflies and moths which was considered an evil omen. A few weeks later, while still in Quito, he died of disease.
Prior to his death, he has lived much of his later life in Tomebamba although their cultural impact was otherwise spotty, the Inca spread the use of Quichua as a lingua franca and ordered large forced migrations where resistance to their conquest was especially strong.
