In a fairly small school, nobody notices Chuck, and most of the days he seems to be alone, which states that Chuck is a neglected child.
Neglect of a child is considered to be an abusive act against a child. This has a very long impact on the mental and physical wellbeings of a child. What chuck experiences are emotional neglect and ignorance which made him live alone most of the time in the school.
Effects of Neglection on a child:
- Problems in the development of the brain.
- Made an introverted child in the future.
- mental and emotional instability including anxiety and depression.
Neglected children are not disliked by everyone; they just aren’t noticed. They are often shy and withdrawn, as they don't put any effort to make new friends or meet new people or they may not have any.
