Hence, Some of Shakespeare's most well-known plays were initially performed in The Globe Theatre, which opened in 1599. During a performance of Shakespeare's Henry VIII in 1613, the roof caught fire, causing the building to burn to the ground. On the same location, a second Globe was immediately constructed and inaugurated in 1614.
