What is an enveloped virus?
A virus which has an outer covering/envelope is considered an enveloped virus. This outer covering is formed during a process called budding off and the outer covering comes from the infected host cell. The vial genome is released inside host cell due to uncoating of the viral cell. During Uncoating, the capsid gets removed, thereby releasing the viral genome into host cells, after which gene replication and transcription takes place.
