- Difficulty in relationships and a lack of trust. For a child who doesn't trust his parents, it is quite challenging to learn to trust others or to identify trustworthy individuals. This may make it challenging to establish connections as an adult. Due to the adult's lack of understanding of healthy relationships, it may also result in unhealthy partnerships
- Deep sentiments of being unworthy : It is quite challenging to go past these ingrained thoughts if you were often taught as a child that you are no good. Because they don't think they are worth more, mistreated children may abandon their schooling as they get older or choose low-paying employment.
- Problems with emotion control. Children who have been abused are unable to feel safely. As a result, the emotions are repressed and express themselves unexpectedly. Adult abuse survivors may have unexplainable anxiety, despair, or fury.
