All eight traits are equally important traits of an effective project manager and it depends on individual selection as personal integrity is as essential as a skilled politician.
For the management of a project, there are definite eight traits/skills associated with being an effective project manager:
- Systems thinker (perfectly understands the work)
- Personal integrity (building up trust in order to facilitate better)
- High emotional intelligence (EQ).
- Proactive (ability to handle and associate the situation)
- Skillful politician (to deal with conflicting agendas)
- General business perspective (have a practical approach to the practical world)
- Effective time management (know the importance of time for the team)
- Optimist (always encourage each team member in order to keep them motivated for work).
Dividing these skills by importance level, it could hardly be done as all eight traits are important to being an effective manager.
