To be clear, sexual orientation and biological sex are two different identities from gender. It can signify being a man, woman, both, neither, something in between, nor something completely else, depending on how each person expresses it.
We need to feel more at ease with the diversity of gender identities, which include but are not limited to: cisgender, transgender, gender fluid, androgynous, bigender, demi gender, genderqueer, and androgynous.
