Narrative criticism or narrative paradigm is a communication theory which was proposed by Walter Fisher and suggests that all meaningful communication happens through storytelling or reporting of events. Hence, rationality is determined based on people's judgements of a story's consistency (reliable fashion in which the characters act) and congruity (how the story makes sense).
