The Sons of Liberty were a group of colonial tradesmen founded to protest the Stamp Act and other forms of taxation against them. It was led by Adams.
The Stamp Act was formed to tax colonists on every piece of printed paper they used, like playing cards, newspapers, and legal documents. The colonists were angry at being taxed without having representation in Parliament and it was wrong for Britain to impose taxes on them so as to acquire revenue. In protest, the colonists boycotted goods sold by the British like tea, and snicked in the Dutch tea. This brought about an uproar and violence occurred. This led to the repeal of the taxes.
